We begin the broadcast discussing the overwhelming sensory experience that is the Mecum auto auction, the sights, the smells of exhaust and rubber, the action of the auction floor as well as hearing some fine reminiscing of cars and memorabilia and the importance of carrying on tradition from “Pops” Davis. In the second hour we speak with Dudes and Beer prize wheel winner Michael Wassen who attends Mecum with his every year. He discusses his love of his family business Legacy Mechanical Solutions in Tomball, Texas and how since beginning work at the age of 14 he has developed a work ethic and an admiration for people who build and restore cars, he even discusses his desire to study auto mechanics. In the beginning of hour three we have a revealing discussing with Mr. Gene Lisco, mecum bidder and winner of the 2016 Mecum auction in Houston of the replica of BIG RED the world’s fastest ’69 Camaro. He discusses his love of American automotive iron as well as his experience in the pit and the actual realization the he had just won the biggest bid of his life in winning Big Red. In the later part of the hour we talk with Grainne Owen, Founder and President of Curing Kids Cancer, a charity that works closely with the Mecum auto auction to help bring awareness and scientific study to the forefront of the often ignored issue of childhood cancer. We discuss the charity, its origin and mission and discuss some of the amazing upcoming events they have coming up to help raise money to win the battle against childhood cancer. For the final hour we talk with Randy Jordan about his experience at the Dodge SRT Hellcat thrill ride experience and have a run in with some more than interesting Houstonians who not only don’t know what live on the air means…but definitely take things waaaay too far…so tune in for all the action and remember, if you can’t be good…be good at it!
